Long time no emo

I find myself finding lesser and lesser urge to blog as i age.. i dont know.. maybe my life has been a smooth sailing ship all the while, with a few occasions of highwaves.

As u age, complications in life increases exponentially. Things become more subjective than objective, more emotional than rasional, more of a lecture of rocket science than ABC lesson. It is not that I didnt try my best to understand and put myself in their shoes. I tried, but sometimes, failed, to see things in others perspective. And things do get tensed up when we failed to understand each other, having an perspective that other's idea is inferior to ours. This happen especially so during recent time, when University of Nottingham is still mourning the loss of a dear friend who lost his life for a mistaken identity case. As a leader of a team, it is frustrating and sad to see that the team is divided due to differences in idea and perspective and compromise seems like miles away. It makes me sad and disappointing to see that leaders in my team to be reluctant to the ideas of majority showing signs of refusal of cooperation if the majority ideas to be executed. I have to admit those are the traits of a good leader, standing firm to their beliefs, knowing exactly what to expect for from a project. However, i do expect more from such leaders. The ability to compromise, to think out of the box and accepts new unproven ideas is also vital.

wth headache..
i'll stop writing.

Summary

It has been more than 3 months since I stepped into USA. The time has come for me to leave this place and start traveling. Met up leen few days ago in Richmond. =D One of the happiest day of my life in USA. *Hugs* thanks for the indomee. It has been raining all day all night in recent days. According to google news, an hurricane had hit Florida, hence the wet weather around the states of Florida.
  • My total earning in cash would be a little less than $6000 before tax after i recieve my last paycheque.
  • Stuffs here is cheaper if you are earning their currency. For example, an hour of pay is $7.5 and an average McD meal cost $5. In Malaysia you get paid RM4 per hour and a McD meal cost RM8.
  • The weather here is crazy. Coldest it went was 14 Celcius at night and highest it went was 40 degree Celcius.
  • People here are much fatter than Malaysians.
  • Fat people here are still proud of their bodies and wears bikini
  • Bikinis is everywhere
  • Americans are crazy bout cleanliness. They will puke if they see how our mamak stalls work.
  • Drivers over here had to give way to crossing pedestrians. Or risk being fined.
  • Rice is a luxury in America.
  • One can get everything from Walmart. From rifle guns to pharmacy to electronics to flowers. You name it, they have it.
  • I tried weed. Smells like burning plastic.
  • Fast food restaurants are everywhere. I really mean everywhere.
  • American cars are big. You can see more MPV and trucks more than small Japanese cars. No wonder they contributed the most greenhouse gases.
  • Skunk smells bad. Really really really bad. It smells like a combination of sour ammonia, rotten shit and decayed roadkill.
  • They have skunks in America. =P
  • Skunks look really really cute. =D
  • Amusement park here is really.. crazy. Cockscrew in Genting is nothing.
  • Napkins is tissue papers in America. Napkins means daipers in Malaysia.
  • People here get amazed when you can speak fluent english.
  • Americans are overall lazier.
  • It's really fun to hang out with Americans.
  • Americans drink A FUCKING LOT
  • Taxis in America will burn your pocket so deep, it goes through ur pelvic bone and come out from ur ass.
  • Cars in America is cheaper than in Malaysia. A honda accord cost about $30000 or so.
  • Foreigners cant get iPhone. AT&T suck balls.
  • The internet connection in my dorm suck balls cuz they dont block torrents. Retarded turks and bulgarians keep download porn thru their laptops.
  • Chinese food here is.. including sushi.
  • I shot a 9mm handgun. Real gun.

I just said my farewell to my fellow associates. It's time for me to leave this place and start the final phase of my summer, the traveling phase. New York, Boston, Washington DC, LA, San Francisco and Hong Kong awaiting..

..to be continued.

Time to sleep

Melee - Built to last

It has been exactly one month and a day since I started working. So far so good for everything actually, except for the fact that I'm currently staying in a room of four occupants which is build for two. There's only one table and one chair per room, and the whole floor shares two microwaves. There is no fluorescent lights, only 1 not so bright orange light to create a warm feeling in the room. The table is fully occupied by the stuffs of 4 occupants, mostly foodstuffs. The locker is left opened as it bangs loudly whenever it is opened or closed. The locker is so small it cant even fit my luggage if its placed horizontally. This room is so JAIL-LIKE. I'm seriously serious about being serious.

I've already informed my agent about this issue and hopefully things will improve in near future la.

Everything else is ok i guess. Food is ok, tho i really miss the variety of spices available in Malaysia. Heck I can't even find chilli sauce in walmart. Bread is like rice here. Back home, rice is everywhere. Right here, rice is luxury. They call sandwiches and subs. Tissue papers as napkins. 10 cents as dime. 1 cents penny. 5 cents as nickles. Phone booth as payphone. Pigs as hogs. bla bla bla..

pekie is still pekie, however.

Muse - Starlight

Far away
This ship has taken me far away
Far away from the memories
Of the people who care if I live or die

My pileload of bullshit in words.

My work starts at 11am tomorrow, hence why I'm here doing some blogging. It's been a while. The journey to USA itself had been quite a eventful one. First, there were some engine generator problem on the plane moments before taking off from Narita Airport in Tokyo. I remember the captain attempted to take off twice before veering off and announced the engine problem. After waited some 2 hours in the plane, the captain finally decide to change to whole engine and postpone the flight to next afternoon. =D Great news! Free stay, free dinner, free breakfast from United Airlines on complimentary basis. We reached the hotel at around 11pm and left at around 11am, so not much time for us to go around Japan. Wadda waste, but a night in Japan is still something to shout about heheee!

So I reached Chicago Airport after around 13 hours of flight. Saw sunset and sunrise on the same flight. The sunrise was beautiful. The skies turns from black to purple then light blue.. really really mesmerizing.

After checking in our laugage in Chicago Airport, we proceed to catch the next flight to Richmond, Virginia which.. unfortunately delayed for another 4 hours. A crazy series of unfortunate delays. When I arrive in Richmond, Virginia (FINALLY!), my laugage didnt arrive (WTF!). Contacted a customers representative in United and reported my lost laugage. Worried the shit outta me. Wore the same stinking shirt since I left Melaka 3 days ago. Wadda heck of a time to loose my laugage.

Thank god my laugage arrive the next day after having lost in transition.

Will update more piles of shits soon.

I havent bathe. And my pillow is so seductive. And some retard ppl is shouting outside for god-knows-why...

Coldplay - Everything's Not Lost

When I counted up my demons
Saw there was one for every day
With the good ones on my shoulders
I drove the other ones away

Non-sequential pictorial form of some random things that happened for the last three weeks.

  • flew from KLIA on 28th May, approx 9.30pm
  • reached Singapore approx 10.30pm
  • Slept in Changi Airport until next morning god knows what time is it.
  • caught the plane to USA which transits thru Narita, Tokyo. Boarded on a United Airlines.
  • Reached Tokyo after about 5 hours. Local time is afternoon. 29th May
  • shopped around Narita Airport until evening to catch the flight to Chicago.
  • Boarded the United Airlines. Plane tried to take off twice but aborted due to some engine generator problem. Waited 2 hours in plane and captain announced that the flight will be postponed to tomorrow afternoon
  • got complimentary hotel stay in Nikko Narita Hotel with dinner and breakfast from United Airlines (YAY!)
  • Boarded the plane next afternoon (30th May) and took another 11 hours to reach Chicago Airport.
  • waited another 5 hours to board the plane to Richmond, Virginia.
  • Reached Virginia around 10pm 30th May
  • Whole fucking journey is three whole fucking days.
  • Cab cost $11 per person. So 4x $11 = $44.. paid $50 cuz IN AMERIKA THEY GIVE TIPS
  • 1st June, started orientation for work.
That's all for the 3 days long journey. Will update more soon. =D

Now back to sleep.

Maroon 5 - Won't Go Home Without You

It's not over tonight
Just give me one more chance to make it right
I may not make it through the night
I won't go home without you..

dam.. I know i know.. its been a non updated blog.. boring boring.. but heck.. what can i do? I'm so good in procrastinating that I almost got a degree for it. To add salt to wound, it has been a REALLY busy month. Ok, let's start my grandmother stories.

Earlier this month, I was in the organizing team for christmas party!

Then I have waves of assignments.. and assignments.. and test.. and assignments.

Then at here comes My Chemical Romance rocking Malaysia in stadium merdeka!

..then my new found source of orgasm, Carl's Jr and J.Co Donuts..

.. and i'm now on holidayzzzz!! Spent most of my time watching discovery channel and national geographic.. sound nerdy, but yeah i love those channels. I actually just came back from KL yesterday with my mum and sis. Went to 1utama and pyramid. Just found out that Jco just opened a new franchise at sunway pyramid new wing! =D As usual, the queue was retarded.

Recently the HINDRAF protest in KL was shouting how unwise our political leaders are. Fuck that. I'm not supporting HINDRAF, mind you. Bush is so ignorant and stupid that he only recently accepted the fact that carbon dioxide does exist. Click here for the article. Here's some quote from the so-wise President of United States..

"Carbon dioxide, a molecule which contains one atom of carbon bonded with two atoms of oxygen, is a naturally occurring colorless gas exhaled by humans and metabolized, in turn, by plants,"

also..

A White House spokesman was careful to categorize the announcement as "cautious," and reiterated that the president is still not ready to take any position on the existence of polar ice caps, ozone, or a controversial idea held by many scientists and often referred to as "weather."

and..

"As a leading industrialized nation, we can no longer afford to ignore the growing consensus of so many experts whose job it is to study our atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is real."

.. oh for fuck's sake.. OF COURSE CARBON DIOXIDE IS REAL. As a chemical engineering student, I cant bear but to voice out how stupid and ignorant that fuckhead is. No wonder people are questioning about his decision made regarding the war in Middle East and other internal matters. The reason for his denial of existance of CO2 is that.. (are you prepare for this?) "There is nothing about any 'carbon dioxide' in the Bible." OMFG how the fuck people in USA voted him to lead their nation? No wonder of USA's reluctance to participant and cooperate in the recent Bali Climate Confrence to curb global warming. Shhh......

Makes me think.. "Oh noes u fell sick! No, dear. The Bible says nothing about "bacteria". God must have cursed upon you for the sins you've done."

Tourette's Syndrome.

Tourette's Syndrome
  • Defined by the presence of involuntary (uncontrolable urge) motor or vocal tics. [defination of tics : sudden, repetitive, stereotyped, nonrhythmic movements (motor tics) and utterances (phonic tics) that involve discrete muscle groups. Motor tics are movement-based tics, while phonic tics are involuntary sounds produced by moving air through the nose, mouth, or throat.]

  • Common muscles tics are eye blinking, coughing, throat clearing, sniffing, limbs movement and facial movements

  • People with Tourette's have normal life expectancy and intelligence. The severity of the tics decreases for most children as they pass through adolences, and extreme Tourette's in adulthood is a rarity.

  • Happens 3 times more frequent in male than female.

.. and yes, I have Tourette's Syndrome.

Most of the people around me won't realise that i have TS. Most of them don't even know what Tourette's Syndrome is. Only a lucky few around me that seen me doing the tics before. Most of the time im able to control the tics. The tic I experience usually last about 5~15 seconds or until i let it go. When I experience the tic, i will have this uncontrollable super urge to just move my hands, neck, legs and facial muscles. I keep telling myself i'm in control of my body, but sometimes, it just cant be controlled. I'll have to let it out, do whatever tics i have to do for 3~5 seconds, and i'm back to normal again. Sometimes i would fall, if im walking or running. Sometimes i would just move my whole body if im sitting down on the chair. Most of the time i'm able to supress the the urge (thank god). But when i fail to do so, it become something very embarassing, cuz people just dont understand what you are doing those weird movement with weird face expression. Before 19th century, people in Europe actually performed exorcism on those with TS as they thought the person is being possessed. Some were even killed because they thought it was demon that possesed. Back here in my case, my TS is refered as "nerve cacat" by my friends.

I consider myself to within the MILD range of TS. I found out about my involuntary tics about standard 6 when i was running for my sports house during sports day. I was running and suddenly i have the that uncontrollable tics. I lost my balance and fall to the ground, but i pretended that i stepped a sharp stone to "cover line". Since then, the tics become more frequent, to about 20times or more a day. There are few embrassing moments that TS caused. During form 4 when I was about to present a speech in the hall, the tics happen again. It hit me hard as it happened on the stage with about 100 students and some teachers as witness. I'm actually able to surpress the urge but mostly not when i'm nerveous. Another incident was when i'm marching to recieve a souvenir and that TS shit hit me again. I crumbled and fall in such a akward way that i look like all my bone just scattered. Of course I became a laughing stock for the next few months, but luckily for my self esteem, i manage to overcome it. It wasnt something i would like to remember tho, but yeah, life goes on.

There are MANY ppl around us that has TS, it's just that u didnt realise it. The maths dont lie, 1 in a thousand. Even celebrity or sportsmen have it. One example is Tim Howard, American's national team keeper, ex-Manchester United keeper. To read the full article click here.

"He was diagnosed with Tourette's when he was 9 years old. His mom first noticed symptoms associated with obsessive-compulsive behavior, repeatedly counting and touching and straightening things. But early on, he refused to let the affliction over shadow his ambition -- and he has become an activist, trying to dispel the ignorance and myths about the disease. "

""It's just a battle of the will, your willpower versus what your mind is telling your body to do," says Howard. "And so it's about suppressing those physical movements, those vocalizations. It's tough to explain, I suppose." But he says he can do it. "

Till today, Tourette's is still a daily shit, tho not as frequent anymore. No doubt, tourette's did change my life in a way or so. I shun myself from sports like football or basketball (sports that requires running) because when i get nervous or anxious, I almost cant control the tics when it strikes. I can actually run pretty fast but.. whatever. I became active in scouts instead. I pick up swimming instead, because in to pool, no one can see ur hands and legs, so no one will know u are doing funny movement. Sometimes when I walk, I will suddenly stop because the sudden tics are striking and im surpressing it.

Below is a video by HBO in America that is to raise awareness about Tourette's Syndrome. My motor tics are similiar to that boy at 0:10sec. Have a look at that vid..

.. well its gettin late. Long day ahead of tomorrow.
